Primary 1 – Maths : 3D Shapes

25 November 2022,

Learning about geometric shapes in Maths is always fun. As a review activity, P1 students were asked to make their own DIY bracelets using colorful 3D letter beads such as cubes, spheres, and cylinders. Each of them arranged their dots on the patterns, then put the beads onto an elastic string. They might add some beads to modify the given practices. At the end of the lesson, students were asked to mention the pattern they made and whether they had different shapes or colors.

By having this activity, the students learned that, in a way, the conditions or colors repeat. It was also a fun activity that it did not only help the students to gain more understanding in learning geometric shapes but also strengthened their fine motor skills. This activity becomes one of the shape recognition projects to make the students run in circles with excitement. ***
