Toddler – Science: Sniff sniff superpower
The adventure began with an exciting mystery as students discovered that “Mighty Freeze” had taken away items they needed to find, similar to the previous lesson. Students were encouraged to search around the classroom, creating an engaging and playful start to the activity.
During the main activity, the teacher had placed small sealed cups containing different scents around the classroom. Each cup was covered with black plastic or paper, allowing the smell to pass through. As students found each cup, they were asked to smell the scent and try to name the object, promoting active participation and sensory exploration.
This activity helped students connect their sense of smell to real-life experiences, such as recognizing familiar scents at home or in their surroundings. It also supported their vocabulary development, observation skills, and confidence in expressing their ideas, making learning both meaningful and memorable.
