Toddler – Science: Floating and sinking experiment
Toddler students learning through play and direct exploration best. During science, they were taken to watch as some sea creatures realia and rubbish put into the water. They were also encouraged to observe and differ as the objects sink to the bottom or float on the water surface.
Observing floating and sinking objects helped toddlers learn through hands-on play. It built curiosity and early thinking skills as they notice differences and make simple predictions. This activity also developed their language development when mentioning the vocabulary float or sink as what they see and builds fine motor skills as they place objects in the water.
Learning about floating and sinking would also help toddler students begin to understand the ocean and how to care for it. They learned that some objects like trash may float on water or sink into the deep blue ocean and can harm sea animals. By noticing this, toddlers started to learn that putting trash in the bin helps keep the ocean clean and safe.
