Toddler – Maths: Super counting skill

Toddler – Maths: Super counting skill

The children began the activity by pretending to be superheroes like Supertato. They played a fun game where they saved the vegetables from the naughty evil pea. They picked up the vegetables, carried them to a safe place, and worked together as little heroes.

The children enjoyed using their imagination and moving their bodies during the play when they were introduced to the number 7. Then, the children learned about numbers 1 to 3 by counting real vegetables. They counted one carrot, two eggplants, and three pieces of corn, or other vegetables. The teacher guided them to count slowly using their fingers. The children had fun touching and counting the vegetables while learning the concept of numbers 1 to 3.

Through these activities, the children developed early math skills, language skills, and social skills. They learned how to count objects in real life, such as counting food at home or items while playing. The pretend play also helped them build teamwork, confidence, and creativity. These experiences connect to everyday life, as children begin to understand numbers, follow simple instructions, and interact with others in meaningful ways.
