Toddler – Learning Project: Day 2 & 3
After exploring the world of ladybird through discussion and students’ observation book about its features and habitat, students continued their Learning Project Day 2 by listening to the deeper explanation about ladybird (the importance of ladybird for environment, the ladybird’s camouflage ability, and ladybird life-cycle). To reinforce their learning, students took a hands-on activity of assembling ladybird body parts that consist of head, body, antennae, and wings. This activity encouraged teamwork and helped them to have better understanding how the parts of a ladybird work together. It is also deepened their appreciation for the roles of ladybird in keeping nature healthy and balanced.
On the 3rd day, toddlers were exposed with ladybirds with different colours, shapes, numbers, and the sizes of the spots (big or small). Students began to design their own ladybird by choosing the colours of the ladybird’s body and wings and the shape of the ladybird’ spots. This phase supported children’s imagination, developed creativity, and trained their critical thinking and decision-making. ***
