Toddler – Entry Point: The Dinosaur Detective

Toddler – Entry Point: The Dinosaur Detective

Our Toddler students launched into their new learning theme, Dinosaur Detectives, with a time-traveling adventure into the prehistoric world! To ignite their curiosity and set the stage for exploration, the children began with a story about Earth before people and cities existed. Using a globe, they were introduced to the concept of our planet and where we live, in a way that was both simple and meaningful for young minds.

The excitement continued outdoors as students discovered giant dinosaur footprints and eagerly compared them to their own. They followed the trail using their gross motor skills—jumping, stepping, and balancing—until they arrived at a dinosaur nest hiding a large, mysterious egg. With teamwork and wonder, the children carefully carried the egg back to the classroom, eager to find out what was inside.

Back indoors, they helped crack open the egg and were thrilled to find a baby dinosaur waiting inside! This magical moment sparked rich vocabulary development as students explored words like dinosaureggbonesclaws, and teeth.

To further their learning, the children expressed their creativity by coloring dinosaur pictures and pasting them onto cave-themed backgrounds. This fun art activity also supported their fine motor development.

Through this imaginative and engaging entry point, our Toddlers practiced teamwork, communication, observation, and creative expression—laying a strong foundation for future learning, all while having a roaring good time! ***
