Toddler – Entry Point: Once Upon A Time

To kick off the new theme, Toddler students participated in an Entry Point activity by listening to the classic story of “The Tortoise and The Hare”. The children were thrilled to meet the storyteller, showing great excitement and anticipation as the story began.

During the storytelling session, students were fully engaged, listening closely and reacting to different parts of the story. They expressed a range of emotions, including happiness, sadness, and surprise, as they followed the adventures of the tortoise and the hare. The storyteller emphasized the moral of the story, helping children understand the importance of appreciating others’ achievements and respecting each person’s unique pace and abilities.

After the story, the children worked on a creative activity where they made their own headbands. Each child was given materials to decorate and personalize their headband, then they added pictures of the tortoise and the hare to represent the characters from the story. This hands-on activity reinforced the themes of the story, allowing students to connect the moral lesson with a tangible experience.

Through this activity, students were introduced to the concept of valuing others’ achievements and understanding that everyone has different strengths. By linking this moral lesson to their personal experiences, whether at home or in interactions with others, the children began to build empathy and respect for the people around them. The Entry Point activity successfully combined storytelling, creative expression, and social-emotional learning, setting a strong foundation for the new theme. ***
