Toddler – BMC 2025 Modelling Stage: Transforming Understanding Into Creative Expression
As the BMC 2025 Project advanced, the Modelling Stage provided toddler students with the opportunity to translate their developing ideas into tangible creations. Students began by recalling the items they wished to donate: pencils, books, milk, and fruits, before engaging in a role-play shopping experience at the Mini Supermarket. Here, students practiced following simple procedures such as waiting for their turn, selecting appropriate items, and referring to a shopping list, all of which fostered independence and a functional understanding of everyday life scenarios
During the following session, the students participated in a reflective discussion about their shopping experience. They shared whether they found the items they needed, how they felt during the process, and which items they chose. This dialogue not only supported language development but also encouraged deeper social and personal reflection.
The stage continued with a hands-on classification activity in which students sorted the collected items: stationery into a backpack, and healthy foods into a lunch box. After painting the bags and lunch box, students created representational models by attaching pictures of the corresponding items. This cohesive process combined creativity, conceptual understanding, and purposeful craftsmanship.
