Secondary 1 – Learning Project : Adaptability
Secondary 1 Learning Project in semester 1 was conducted on December 7-16, 2022. The Secondary 1 Learning Project was the collaboration of PBL, English, and Social Study lessons. Through this Learning Project, students were expected to deepen their understanding of the lessons as well as understand the implications of what they’ve learned in the real life.
This semester adaptability was extracted as the theme of the Learning Project since being adaptable is the key to survival in this world. The project was aimed at raising the students’ awareness about Indonesia’s geological condition and its consequences.
The project started by gaining knowledge about potential disasters due to Indonesia’s geological condition. Hence, the students learned that tectonic plates contributed to potential disasters, the earthquakes. Then, students explored all about earthquakes, specifically in Indonesia: the frequency, the impacts, the victims, and the mitigation systems. After getting the understanding, the students were asked to create an earthquake drill procedure . At the end, the students’ works were shared to the Secondary school citizens to educate them to deal with earthquakes. The students followed the Learning Project very well and their work was beyond expectations. ***
