Primary Project Performance: Heart That Care, Friends Who Share
On Monday, 15 December to Tuesday, 16 December, students took part in a joyful Project Performance with the theme “Heart That Care, Friends Who Share.” This event also became a special celebration to mark the closing of students’ learning journey in Semester 1, allowing them to reflect on and celebrate what they had learned throughout the academic period.
The performance featured two drama stories about friendship and respect. The scripts were adapted from students’ ideas gathered through a writing competition, giving students the opportunity to see their creativity brought to life on stage. The students performed the drama with enthusiasm and confidence, showing that they truly enjoyed the stories and messages they shared.
What made this Project Performance special was the strong involvement of students in every step of the process. Students joined auditions to take on various roles, such as actors, dubbers, stage crew (black team), and MCs. Each role played an important part in making the event successful. In addition to drama, students also showcased their dance performances, which they had practiced for six months. They performed their dances happily, showing confidence, teamwork, and dedication. Their energy and joy were clearly seen during the performance.
The celebration also included the BMC Winner Announcement, where several students were appreciated for their ability and dedication to solve problems and help others. These students were called to the stage and received appreciation as a form of recognition for their efforts and achievements.
The Project Performance ended on a happy and memorable note with a flashmob joined by all students and teachers, creating a warm atmosphere of togetherness and celebration. Overall, this Project Performance was a meaningful learning experience as well as a joyful way to close Semester 1. Through this event, students learned not only how to perform, but also how to work together, build confidence, and show care and respect for others. It is important values that they will carry with them beyond the classroom.
Beyond the immediate joy and success of the event, the high level of student involvement in this Project Performance fosters a strong sense of ownership over the activities. When children feel that the event truly belongs to them, from contributing ideas to taking on various roles, they genuinely appreciate and enjoy the entire learning process. This ownership leads to a happier and more engaged way of learning, where motivation comes from within, making future educational experiences more meaningful, enjoyable, and effective in the long run.
