Primary 6 – Visual Arts: Sport on News
Primary 6 students have been exploring how to draw human characters under the theme “Sport in the News.” The activity began with a discussion between the teacher and students about their favorite sports and the equipment used in each. Afterward, the students sketched their ideas on paper, creating their sports scenes in cartoon or anime style, a format they were already familiar with and enjoyed.
The purpose of this activity was to encourage creativity in drawing human figures, while also allowing them to work in a style that resonates with their interests. Once their initial sketches were complete, the students transferred their drawings onto canvas and continued by painting with acrylics. This step gave them the chance to further develop their painting skills, as working with canvas and acrylic paints requires different techniques compared to drawing on paper.
