Primary 6 – Science: Refraction of Light
In Science Class, P6 students learned about the refraction of light. Refraction is the bending of light when it travels from one medium to another medium. To prove this statement, students tried to observe what would happen to the straws if they placed them in a glass of water, a glass of oil, and a glass of water and oil.
From their observation, students could see that the straws looked bent differently in each glass. The students found out that light travels at different speeds in different mediums, in this case, water and oil. In daily life, wearing glasses and using a camera are examples of refraction. ***
