Primary 6 – Science : Mass and Weight
P6 students learned about “More About Forces” in Science Class. In this chapter, students discussed about mass and weight. In daily life, we often use ‘weight’ when we mean ‘mass’, but in science, mass is different from weight.
Mass is the amount of a matter in an object and it can be measured in units such as kilogram and gram using a balance. Different with mass, weight is the gravitational force acting on an object and it can be measured in the unit of newton using a forcemeter.
In learning this material, students got an opportunity to measure the mass and weight of some objects using a forcemeter.
