Primary 6 – Science: Electrical Conductivity
P6 students have been learning about the properties of matter in science. The ability to conduct electricity is a property of matter. This property is called conductivity. The students carried out an experiment to test whether a material can conduct electricity or not, using a circuit tester and some objects around us.
From this activity, the students found out that metals are electrical conductors because they could light up the lamp in the circuit tester. Some materials, such as rubber, paper, wood, and plastic, are electrical insulators because they can’t light up the lamp in the circuit tester. ***
