Primary 6 – Science: Dissolving

In the chapter on Physical and Chemical Changes, P6 students learned about solids dissolving in liquid. Dissolving is the process by which a solute is mixed with a solvent. The students had an experiment to dissolve salt as the solute and water as the solvent. For the first experiment, they tried to dissolve the salt using warm and cold water.

As for the second experiment, they tried to dissolve the salt by stirring it five times and ten times. After the experiment, students discovered that temperature and stirring can affect solids dissolving in liquid. The salt could dissolve faster if we use warm water and stir it more. ***
