Primary 6 – Global Perspective, Going Global: A Fashion Obervasion in Iskandartex

Thursday, 6 November 2025, Primary 6 students visited the Iskandartex, a textile and clothing factory, to see how clothes are made. They walked around the factory and saw how raw materials processed to become finished products. They also learnt about fast fashion, its effects, and how to shop responsibly.

During the visit, the students showed great interest and asked good questions about how things are made, where materials come from, how long production takes, and how to minimized impact to the environment. They listened carefully to the factory staff and took notes about fast fashion and its impact on the environment.

This visit helped the students in many ways. They learnt how the textile industry works, which added to what they study in class. Most importantly, they improved their thinking skills related to action and impact of shopping. The students also learnt some possible actions and ways to deal with fast fashion, like think before buying, choose good quality and support brands that have good responsibility to the environment. ***
