Primary 5 – Visual Arts: Save Planet Earth
Primary 5 students learnt about making campaign poster under the theme ‘Save Planet Earth’. The students were asked to draw the poster in sticker paper media. First, teacher and students were having discussion about things happen in the world, cause and effect and also how to preserve earth. Those information were used by the students as the information to make the poster.
Next, students sketch and make the infographic also with decoration in the paper. As the finishing, students colour it using marker or coloured pencils. Their infographic contains information and pictures of how the students design the pictures with explanation that they had collected during the discussion with teacher.
The purpose of this learning activities was to enhance the students’ knowledge and giving chance to them to participate in saving the world through simple things that they could do, such as save the electricity at home or do not littering around school. The final product will be sticked in their house as their reminder to keep their environment safe and also as their appreciation to their own creation so that the students could keep their awarness to do every task well.
With this activity students are exposed to gain experience to have a creative process to design infographic. Started from collecting information, discussion, sketching, making final product, and learn from the feedback. By doing so, students will have a holistic learning activity, not just creating the final product. In the end, with better involvement, students will more enjoy the learning activities and appreciate their own creation. ***
