Primary 5 – Visual Arts: Creating with Purpose
Primary 5 students explored the theme “The Beauty of Indonesia” by designing 3D products such as bags, wallets, storybooks, and wayang puppets. Each item was decorated with Indonesian elements like Batik patterns, iconic landmarks, and native animals.
Working in groups, students used recycled materials and learned about techniques, tools, and creative processes from their teacher. They set goals for each session, reflected on their progress, and applied peer feedback to improve their work.
This hands-on project not only developed their artistic and problem-solving skills but also fostered collaboration, responsibility, and creativity. The final products were proudly presented during a Mini Expo, boosting students’ confidence and communication.
By connecting with Indonesia’s cultural richness through art, students gained a deeper appreciation for tradition while building essential 21st-century skills. ***
