Primary 5 – Science: School Plants Exploration
Primary 5 Science students turned school grounds into a living laboratory to explore the world of flowering vs. non-flowering plants!
After mastering key plant characteristics in the classroom, three student teams launched an investigation across the first floor, second floor, and lobby. With keen observation skills, teams examined leaf and flower structures, classified each species, and recorded plant counts—even interviewing school staff to identify unfamiliar species!
The young scientists discovered a rich variety of non-flowering plants and used their data to propose green improvements, such as adding vibrant flowering plants to brighten up the campus. This hands-on mission sharpened their observation, teamwork, and real-world environmental stewardship!
