Primary 5 – Science & Physical Education: Exploring Fitness and Balanced Diet Through Real-Life Experiences

P5 students stepped out of the classroom for a dynamic Science and PE outdoor learning adventure at Manahan Stadium and Manahan Shelters! Connecting physical fitness with balanced nutrition, the activity put student agency front and center as groups walked to the stadium, negotiated their own plans, and took charge of their learning journey.

At the stadium, students took ownership of four fitness missions by deciding as a group which sequence of stations to tackle first, supporting peers through tough movements along the way. The learning then shifted to real-world nutrition at two self-selected food shelters, where students gathered data on menus, ingredients, and cooking methods while practicing polite communication with local sellers.

By taking charge of their routes, asking questions, and analyzing choices in an authentic setting, students built confidence, physical endurance, teamwork, and decision-making skills that support healthier lifestyle habits.
