Primary 5 – LOL: Be Curious to Explore and Learn
On a bright and cheerful morning, the Primary 5 students set off on an exciting Learning Out Loud adventure to Indrokilo Boyolali. The journey began at 7.45 a.m, as the students departed enthusiastically from the Secondary building, ready for a day full of exploration and discovery.
Upon arrival, the students gathered for a pre-challenge session led by Ms. Yudha, who introduced the day’s activities and encouraged everyone to learn through experience, teamwork, and creativity. After the briefing, the students were divided into groups and began rotating through five engaging learning posts spread across the beautiful Indrokilo area.
At Post 1, the students explored nature by measuring trees, applying their knowledge of math and science in a real-world context. Post 2 invited them to use their imagination by creating stories about Indrokilo, blending observation with creative writing. Moving on to Post 3, the students visited the iconic Sosrobirowo statue, where they expressed their artistic skills by sketching the landmark. Post 4 turned into an exciting treasure hunt, as the students searched for clues and learned about natural and cultural resources in the Resources Treasure challenge.
Finally, at Post 5, everyone gathered for lunch and reflection time. The students shared their favorite moments, discussed what they had learned, and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn outside the classroom.
Throughout the day, the Primary 5 students showed great enthusiasm, teamwork, and curiosity. Their Learning Out Loud experience at Indrokilo Boyolali truly embodied the spirit of joyful and meaningful learning. Meaningful learning is achieved through real-life experiences that enable students to apply their knowledge in daily life. Such experiences help develop independence, discipline, cooperation, respect, and responsibility, while also fostering curiosity to explore and discover answers independently or collaboratively. ***
