Primary 5 – I Care: Recycle and Reuse Paper Waste
I Care a program held by Focus Independent School to raise students’ compassion and awareness toward their surroundings. P5 decided to discuss how to deal with paper waste. As with prior knowledge, students learned about the over-exploitation of trees and how it worsened global warming.
The students gained awareness that papers around them are made from trees. They realized that too much paper waste indirectly affected their environment. Knowing those facts, students were asked to think of doable actions to reduce the damage caused by paper waste. They came up with the idea to recycle and reuse paper waste. They collected unused papers to make seed bombs, recycled paper, paper clay pots, paper pots, and seed packs.
P5 students held an exhibition to display the products they had made. The exhibition was part of an environmental campaign to reduce, reuse and recycle paper waste.
