Primary 5 – Character Building: Yes, We Made It!

P5 students created fruit platters to celebrate their teamwork and collaboration after learning about the character trait “Collaborator” in Character Building. They learned that being a collaborator means having a willingness to work with others by contributing unique ideas and making constructive contributions. Therefore, it is important to develop self-awareness before becoming involved in a team. Creating fruit platters was chosen for celebrating both teamwork and healthy habits.

As part of their learning experience, students were given a task to plan, prepare and present fruit platters together. Each group worked cooperatively, dividing responsibilities such as washing, cutting, arranging, and decorating the fruits. They showcased their teamwork by creating colorful and healthy fruit platters in small groups. Through this activity, they discovered that serving and plating are not only about taste but also about aesthetics, and each team member may have different preferences in this area.

This activity does not only encourage communication and cooperation but also provide opportunities for students to express their creativity and learn the value of working together toward a common goal. It is also a chance for them to demonstrate respect, share ideas and help one another throughout the process.

Through this fun and engaging activity, students are able to develop their personal character and contribute positively to their teams. This experience also helps them become more open to different perspectives and preferences, fostering a growth mindset for the future. ***
