Primary 5 and Secondary 2: Integrated Learning Semester 2
FIS has a regular program to provide collaborative learning in a wider scope called Integrated Learning. The objectives of Integrated Learning are to build stronger connections among levels and to develop students’ social skills and personal growth.
This semester’s Integrated Learning was set for Primary 5 and Secondary 2 for Science and English lessons. It was conducted on Tuesday, 23 April 2024 in the Secondary building. There was a series of activities done in the Integrated Learning.
Primary 5 students were accompanied by the student escorts from Secondary. The student escorts were in charge of introducing the Secondary environment to Primary students through a touring session and conducting a presentation to share deeper information about Secondary.
The main activities were divided into two sessions, the Science class and the English class. In Science, the students had a food test experiment to find out the nutrients in a food product while in English, students learned figurative language through interactive quizzes and active learning activities.
At the end of the event, students had to fill in a reflection form. The result showed that the event got positive responses from the students as they could enjoy the activities and gain benefits from the activities. ***
