Primary 4 – Orientation: Exciting Orientation Week

Primary 4 students joined their first orientation week. The activities took place in their classrooms and school area over five exciting days. With the new Primary tagline “Growing Beyond the Classroom”, the program introduced students to their new teachers, learning habits, classroom rules, and school environment through a variety of fun and meaningful activities.

They began by meeting their classroom and subject teachers, practicing neat handwriting, and playing a fun game called Missing Lyric. The following days included creative sessions like crafting, a color grid activity, and a personal learning style exploration. Students also enjoyed a movie time, made summaries, joined an S-Team session about how to keep my surrounding clean, and ended the week with a cheerful talent show. These activities worked well because they combined emotional connection, creativity, and team collaboration — all essential for active learning.

The orientation was carefully designed to help students feel comfortable in their new learning journey and leave a positive impact on students. Many grows confidence in speaking, expressing themselves, and showing their talents. They discovered how they learn best and how to work together with new classmates. By participating in different activities, they learnt important skills like listening, caring for their surroundings, and building positive friendships. The students’ reflections and smiles showed that they were ready to take on the new school year with excitement and a growth mindset.

This orientation was more than just a welcome. It was the first step in building a joyful and supportive learning community. The activities were designed to help students grow not only academically but also socially and emotionally. The students’ active participation and enthusiasm throughout the week reflected their readiness to learn, take initiative, and contribute positively to their school community. ***
