Primary 4 – Maths: Count On and Count Back Across 0
Primary 4 students learnt about counting on and counting back using negative numbers. The lesson began with knowing the position of the negative numbers on the number line. To make the students easier to understand, the teacher prepared a number line on the classroom’s floor and asked them to step on or step back on the number line to know the position of positive and negative numbers. This activity helped the students to learn that counting on and counting back numbers is the same with stepping on or stepping back on the number line. It facilitates students with visual and kinesthetic learning styles. Students also practiced to add and subtract the numbers by tens, hundreds, and thousands. ***
