Primary 4 – Exit Point: The Think Tank Fair
P4 students celebrated their learning in term 1 by inviting P2 and P3 students to attend to their fair. In this term, the topic is Brainwave. From this topic, P4 students have learnt about how positive mindset can help us to learn and also learn about some strategies that can help students to learn better, such as learning through colors, mnemonic strategy, etc.
For this exit point activity, the students would present some fun and meaningful activities that showed how positive mindset will be very significant to help students in learning. In each booth consisting of 4 students, they were presenting one of the activities: introducing mnemonic, guessing song lyrics, building the tower, knowing my learning style, mixing color, and puzzle games.
During the preparation for the Think Tank Fair, the students worked together to organize their booths and rehearsed their activities. They prepared the materials they needed, such as blank cards for coloring, puzzles, music, and uno cards, and made sure each group understood their role in presenting and guiding younger students. Through this preparation, they did not only learn how to set up an event but also practiced teamwork, communication, and responsibility.
In this occasion, P2 and P3 students became the audience. They could choose which booth to visit. They were very excited because they could learn more knowledge about some strategies to help them in learning. In each booth, they were given a set of challenges to be solved in different activities, such as building tower with certain instructions, memorizing lyrics with mnemonic strategy, solving puzzle, mathematic quiz or arranging jumbled letters.
This activity can give more benefits for both presenter and audience. Having a positive mindset and effective learning strategies will be greatly impactful for them in the future. They can be more confident in solving their problems because they can think better to find out the best solution. This process will also become a stimulation to strengthen intrinsic motivation and do not give up easily ini facing any challenges. Moreover, it will also help them not only in their school years but also later in their future life, whenever they continue to learn and face new challenges. ***
