Primary 3 – Science: Friction
In Science, P3 students learned about different types of forces, one of them being friction. Within the activity, P3 students tried to find out how different types of surfaces affect how much friction there is. Students were divided into groups of four. Each group tested out three types of surfaces: book cover, sandpaper, and rough fabric. They glided coins on those three surfaces, then observed on which surface the coins glide the fastest and on which surface the coins glid the slowest. The surface on which the coins glided the slowest had greater friction. Students were excited to experiment. They loved to test out new things since it sparked their curiosity. ***
