Primary 3 – Maths: How much is it?

P3 students learned about money notation. They tried to read and count dollars and cents properly by using play money. As a starter, students were divided into 4 big groups to play the “How much is it?” game. Each group got one picture to be solved.

They had to find the correct money notation based on the picture provided. Students looked for the picture and then counted the money. They counted dollars and cents and then chose the correct money notation on the whiteboard. In the next activity, they had to find the amount of money needed to make the money notation given. They used any numbers to compose money notation based on their own idea. They also learned how to work in a group and use their creativity to solve the problem. They felt happy and excited to read and count the money. ***
