Primary 3 – English: Sharing Information about The Sharks
Sharing information is an important skill, as it allows knowledge to be a resource for those around us. To practice this, Primary 3 students conducted presentations about sharks, where they shared fascinating facts and details with their classmates.
Before presenting, the students studied information texts and learned how to structure and deliver information effectively. This included lessons on types of sharks, how to create a mind map, organize details using a bulleted list, and present their findings clearly. Armed with these skills, the students prepared their presentations on topics such as the weirdest sharks, the fastest sharks, and the biggest sharks.
During their presentations, the students confidently explained their research to the audience, helping their classmates gain new knowledge about sharks. They engaged in a question-and-answer session, where the audience asked thoughtful questions, and the presenters responded confidently, demonstrating their understanding of the material. This exchange not only reinforced the audience’s learning but also tested the presenters’ ability to synthesize and articulate information effectively.
This activity went beyond simply sharing information. For the students, it was about reading, analyzing, and summarizing what they had learned in a format that others could understand.
