Primary 2 – Science: How to Make a Simple Circuit
In Science, Primary 2 students learnt about electricity. They learnt about “How to Make a Simple Circuit”. They began the lesson with a fun ball-throwing game to review the components of a simple circuit. As they caught the ball, they named different parts such as the cell, wires, and lamp. After the warm-up activity, teacher explained that they would try to build their own simple circuits and reminded them to work carefully and safely while handling the materials.
Next, the students worked in pairs to build a simple circuit using the equipment prepared by the teacher. They discussed ideas with their partners, connected the wires, and checked each step together. This teamwork helped them support one another, share responsibilities, and learn through collaboration while exploring how electricity flows in a circuit. After practicing with a partner, students took turns creating a simple circuit independently. Cheers and excited smiles filled the classroom when the bulbs finally lit up.
This activity not only strengthened their understanding of electricity but also encouraged teamwork, confidence, and careful behaviour during experiments. Those skills will support their scientific skill, encourage curiosity in exploring new topics, and help them confidently participating in classroom activities.
