Primary 2 – Science: First Day of School

The first day of school for our Primary 2 students was filled with excitement and energy. We began the morning with a fun kids’ yoga session as our warm-up activity. The movements helped the children relax their bodies, refocus their minds, and prepare themselves for the learning activities ahead.

Next, the students explored the topic of light sources through a short video and a hands-on craft activity. This activity was introduced to help them clearly understand the difference between natural sources of light and those made by humans. By creating their own representations, students were able to visualize the concept more concretely and build deeper connections with what they watched. Students worked in groups of five, they discussed the pictures they chose, shared ideas, and assembled the pictures together, making the learning experience more interactive and engaging.

It was a joyful and meaningful start to the new semester. The students participated enthusiastically in every activity, and we hope they continue to stay motivated throughout Semester 2. We believe that building early curiosity, collaboration skills, and confidence in expressing ideas will support their growth as independent learners and help them succeed in future Science topics.
