Primary 2 – Reading Program: Our Reading Passport Journey Begins!

Primary 2 students started the reading program by creating personalized Reading Passports. This activity introduced a fun way to explore books while building comprehension skills. Each student designed a unique passport to use throughout the phase.

The passport includes six questions for students to answer weekly about their reading. These questions help young readers discover characters, events, and their favourite parts of the story. Stamps are awarded for each completed question, making progress visible and rewarding.

Teachers observed great enthusiasm and thoughtful engagement as students shared their answers. The passports provide a clear way to track reading understanding and progress over time. The passport is also a tool to stimulate and equip students with self-monitoring skills.

This activity marks an exciting start to the reading program, encouraging a love for books and helping students become more confident readers. The filled passports will showcase the students’ reading progress and accomplishments. With every stamp earned, a new chapter of confidence and curiosity unfolds for our young readers. ***
