Primary 2 – Orientation Day: Growing Beyond The Classroom
During Orientation Week, P2 students were reminded about the values of cooperation, respect and school cleanliness through games and group activities.
First, the students were introduced to the Primary tagline and its meaning. Through this activity, they were able to understand and become familiar with the message behind the tagline. To help them connect more with the Primary tagline, “Growing Beyond The Classroom,” they wrote the tagline in groups and displayed it on the Display Board. This is expected to help them become more familiar with Primary tagline.
Through this activity, P2 students are expected to understand more about how to work together with their friends in a group. They were reminded of the importance of cooperation and teamwork through a game called Secret Message. In this game, they had to arrange scrambled letters to form the Primary tagline: Growing Beyond The Classroom. Through this game, they learnt how to collaborate effectively. The activity is also a reminder of the importance of being a respectful student.
After creating the tagline, the students were also reminded to always keep their classroom and school clean. The teacher emphasized that maintaining cleanliness at school is also part of the students’ responsibility. Through this activity, students are expected to take responsibility for cleanliness wherever they are and to take better care of their personal belongings, keeping them neat and organized so it will keep the comfort of their classmates in the classroom.
Through all activities, P2 students are expected to remember and understand the meaning of the Primary tagline well. They also have experiences to be cooperative students by learning how to work together with their friends in groups and building a good teamwork. They also have the opportunity to practice being responsible for their belongings and maintaining the cleanliness of their surroundings. In doing so, they can apply these good habits at home and wherever they go. ***
