Primary 2 – Maths: Patterned Wall Decor

With final exams approaching, Primary 2 students engaged in a motivational craft activity to lift their spirits and inspire a positive mindset. They created wall decorations featuring encouraging quotes, combining creativity with lessons learned in other subjects.

The activity began with each student selecting a motivational quote to write on colorful paper. They were encouraged to choose quotes that would help remind them and their classmates to stay positive, put in their best effort, and support one another during exam season. This focus on language helped students connect the words they chose with a sense of purpose and encouragement.

Next, students chose colorful popsicle sticks and arranged them to frame their quotes. They applied concepts from their Math lessons on patterns, experimenting with regular and random arrangements to create unique designs. This task allowed them to reinforce their understanding of patterns in a practical, hands-on way, connecting math skills to a real-life project.

The finished decorations brought vibrant colors and positive messages to the classroom, creating an uplifting environment as students prepare for exams. This activity encouraged them not only to think creatively and apply mathematical concepts, but also to reflect on the importance of a supportive and resilient mindset. ***
