Primary 2 – IPC: The Magic Toymaker’s Challenge

In the theme of “The Magic Toymaker”, the students learned to explore their imaginations and creativity. The activity started with the teacher revealing a mystery box filled with everyday items like newspapers and plastic cups. The newspaper and plastic cups will be used as the main materials to make a toy. The students were excited and eager to work together in groups to create one or more toys.

The goal of the activity was to show that even though the materials in the box might seem like “junk,” they could be transformed into something fun and unique. By collaborating and sharing ideas, students could come up with better and more creative toy designs.

In their groups, the students brainstormed ideas and decided on the kind of toy they wanted to make. They worked together to figure out how to combine the materials in ways that were both functional and imaginative. To wrap up the activity, each group presented their toy to the class. They explained the ideas behind their designs and how they turned the everyday materials into something new and exciting.

This hands-on activity challenged the students to think critically, solve problems and come up with solutions. Through this, the students experienced creative journey, learned more about teamwork and discovered how collaboration can turn everyday objects into something special and useful. Furthermore, the activity can foster students’ creativity, decision making and collaboration skill while designing the toy with the group. ***
