Primary 2 – Character Building: Understanding School Rules

P2 students started character building session on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025. As the beginning, teacher re-exposed school rules and class agreement that they had signed it in orientation week.

Reviewing school rules and class agreement gave chance for students to know their learning environment well. To get better understanding, students observed video about the importance of following rules, then discussed what they could learn from the video. Through this visual and discussion activity, students began to grasp the function of following school rules. Teacher also helped them to construct understanding about rules. Rules could be seen as positive guideline in behaviour rather than just a restriction. At the end, students were asked to honestly tick the rules/agreement that they had followed as their self reflection.

Having good understanding towards school rules would be beneficial for students. It could help students to adapt well with school environment. Their discipline was built through self awareness so that it would stay longer.

Adaptability, especially at school, would lead each student to contribute in creating positive learning environment. This stimulation would not stop in character building session, but it will be continued consistently in their daily routines. Hopefully, following rules and discipline can be a culture that supports students’ learning activities. ***
