Primary 1: What do we get in learning?
Primary 1 students engaged in a series of learning processes to understand how learning takes place. They discovered that the brain acts as the “captain” of all body parts. Learning was not limited to the classroom — students also completed home tasks, reinforcing the idea that learning can happen anywhere. They enjoyed participating in each part of the process.
At the beginning, students were introduced to the concept that everyone gains knowledge and practises skills through learning. They learned that information can be turned into knowledge, and that knowledge must be applied through skills.
For a recording activity, students created 3D glasses as a symbol that knowledge and skills should be gathered in learning. This activity encouraged collaboration with parents at home. By completing the task together, students also experienced the value of learning with family members and became more aware of the importance of teamwork.
After making the 3D glasses, students were able to prove that knowledge and skills can be used to build understanding. They used the glasses to watch a 3D film as evidence of their learning. Through this experience, students realised that when learning processes are followed properly, strong results can be achieved.
Through this activity, students became more aware that learning is not just about achieving high scores. They understood that learning is built through following steps carefully, and that each part of the process is important to reach the best outcomes. ***
