Primary 1 – Science : Growing Plants

Who doesn’t love planting? As young learners, P1 students are glad to do this activity. They love exploring and learning new things. At that moment, they had acquired the basic concept of plants and their parts in Science. As a follow-up to their learning about growing plants, they planted some water spinach seeds in two different pots. Why is that so? They tended to observe those pots because they gave two different treatments. One was watered regularly and got enough sunlight. Besides, the others didn’t get enough water and sunlight. As a result, the students recorded their observations in an Observation Journal.
They observed those two pots at every Science meeting. By doing this kind of experiment, they paid some attention to the seedling process. It’s related to finding out how seeds can turn into seedlings or young plants. Finally, the students drew their observation results and explained them in simple sentences. They were experienced in making an Observation Journal of Planting. ***
