Primary 1 – Orientation Week: A Moment of Science and Mandarin
The collaboration game was the first activity of the day, where kids moved the ball simply using pieces of paper. After that, the children began their science and Mandarin classes for the day. Students reviewed the numbers 1 through 20 in Mandarin using Pinyin. The pupils then alternated counting numbers. They also viewed a Mandarin-language film about daily activities. Laoshi and his friends played games like snakes and ladders while reviewing food-related content with flashcards. As they helped themselves to refresh their memories of counting and the food they learned in EY 2, the children were eager to play this game. Finally, each pupil selected and colored a picture of their preferred dish.
While in Science, the students had so much fun in making a simple paper keychain about the safety rules in Science. Firstly, they sang the song together in class. This kind of activity boosted their mood to enjoy the whole day as Primary 1 students. They looked very enthusiastic because they could keep the keychain home later. It will help them to remind about the safety rules in Science. These rules are very crucial when they are having an experiment later on. Glad to see their happy faces! ***
