Primary 1 – Orientation: Fun Time during Library Visit

During the library visit on Wednesday, Primary 1 students met Ibu Eni, the friendly librarian who introduced them to the rules of the library. Student noticed that they must behave nicely around the library. They get to know some rules like keeping their voices soft, taking care of books, and respecting the space and others around them.

By listening carefully, students learnt how to behave properly in the library. They also got informed about what to do when borrowing books and how to treat books with care. This information will help the students act responsibly and respectfully not only in the library but in other public spaces too.

After they have learnt about library rules, students were invited to choose a book of their own interest. They brought it back to the classroom and read quietly. This allowed them to practice making independent reading choice and apply what they’ve just learnt about library policy.

This activity was not only an introduction to library visit, but also a way to build students’ love for reading. By allowing them to choose books that they enjoy, the students will become more confident and grow themselves as passionate readers. Over time, this will help them better understand what they read and become long-life learners. ***
