Primary 1 – Learning Project Day 6: Highlight and Fix
On Monday, December 16th, 2024, Primary 1 students embarked on the Highlight and Fix phase of their learning project, a critical step before the much-anticipated LAUNCH. This phase allowed students to evaluate and refine their prototypes, focusing on ensuring their work met the intended goals and standards of excellence.
The Highlight and Fix phase was an opportunity for students to finalize their prototypes of emotion mascots. During this stage, students examined their creations, identified areas for improvement, and implemented revisions based on feedback from peers and teachers. This reflective process also included preparing for the upcoming exhibition. Alongside showcasing their mascots, students worked on their LeaPro progress booklets, providing visitors with insights into their journey of designing and preparing for the LAUNCH.
By engaging in this phase, students practiced essential skills such as self-assessment, critical evaluation, and collaborative problem-solving. They identified the strengths and weaknesses of their prototypes and reflected on how well their mascots represented emotions. Moreover, students considered how their creations could raise awareness about emotions and support others in developing self-regulation skills.
This activity emphasized the importance of feedback and iterative improvement. Students learned that revising and refining are essential to achieving a better outcome. Aligning with the project’s theme, the process encouraged them to think deeply about emotions and their impact. They not only explored ways to express emotions effectively but also developed strategies to support others in managing their feelings.
