Primary 1 – Learning Project: Day 2: Ask Tons of Questions
On Thursday, December 5th, 2024, Primary 1 students had the exciting opportunity to meet storytellers who personified emotions like worry, sadness, anger, and happiness. This activity was part of the second phase of their Learning Project, which focuses on understanding and managing emotions.
The storytellers brought these feelings to life through engaging narratives, captivating the students and helping them reflect on their own emotions. By listening to the stories, the students gained a deeper understanding of how emotions work and how to notice and name their own feelings.
The activity encouraged curiosity and critical thinking. Primary 1 students eagerly asked questions about the stories, building on the knowledge they had gathered during the first phase of the Learning Project. They even created question cards to organize their thoughts and explore the topic further.
During the discussion, the storytellers responded to the students’ questions, providing valuable insights and additional information about emotions. This data will play an important role in the next phase of the project, where students will apply their learning in practical ways.
By gaining knowledge about emotional regulation, the students are developing skills to solve everyday problems with independence and confidence. These foundational skills will help them grow into kind, empathetic individuals who can navigate their emotions effectively. Stay tuned for more updates as the students continue their exciting journey in the Learning Project! ***
