Nursery – Science: Colour wonders

As part of their exploration of minibeasts, students were invited to observe the vibrant colours of these amazing tiny creatures. They demonstrated excellent ability in identifying a wide range of colours, showing both curiosity and attention to detail.

To deepen their understanding, students took part in a simple and fun colour-mixing experiment. Using milk and liquid food colouring, they observed firsthand how colours interact and change. When a cotton bud dipped in liquid soap was gently placed into the mixture, the colours began to swirl and mix—a moment of surprise and wonder that brought science to life.

This hands-on experience combined excitement with learning, offering a meaningful introduction to basic scientific concepts like cause and effect, observation, and experimentation. Little by little, such activities help foster critical thinking skills and build a strong foundation for future scientific inquiry. ***
