Nursery – Practical Life: Tabble Manner

Nursery – Practical Life: Tabble Manner

In this week’s practical life lesson, Nursery students explored the importance of good table manners. To begin the lesson, the students watched an engaging video showing examples of proper dining behavior. They learned simple but important habits such as sitting nicely on the chair, chewing food slowly, keeping their mouths closed while eating, and avoiding playing with food. Through the video, students could visually see and discuss what good manners look like in real-life situations. Next, students moved on to a hands-on practice activity. Each child was given a spoon, a plate with rice, and a plastic cup decorated with a smiling mouth image. They practiced spooning by carefully scooping the rice from the plate into the cup, pretending to serve themselves food. Students practiced tidying up by placing their used plates into a bucket.

The activity aimed to help children understand how to behave politely and responsibly during mealtime, while also developing their fine motor coordination. They also learned essential values such as respect, cleanliness, and self-discipline. These lessons support students’ independence and social awareness, preparing them for more responsible behavior both at school and at home. We hope that by learning and practicing these table manners early, our students will carry these good habits with them and continue to use them confidently in their daily lives. ***
