Nursery – Motoric: Upcycle Flowers
In Nursery, students are beginning to understand what it means to love and care for our planet—and they’re learning that even small actions can make a big difference. One key lesson they explored was the importance of reducing plastic waste and finding creative ways to reuse everyday materials.
As part of this learning journey, students created beautiful flower crafts using snack wrappers, used paper, and other recyclable items. This hands-on activity introduced the concept of upcycling—turning waste into something new and useful—while also giving students a chance to express their care for the Earth in a tangible, meaningful way.
Working in groups, the children practiced cooperation as they cut, arranged, and assembled materials to form their unique flower creations. Along the way, they also developed important fine motor skills and learned to collaborate with their peers. This joyful and purposeful activity helped nurture environmental awareness, creativity, and teamwork—all while showing our youngest learners that loving the Earth can start with simple, thoughtful actions. ***
