Nursery – Motoric: Let’s Save the Water!
In celebration of World Water Day, our Nursery students engaged in meaningful discussions and hands-on activities to explore the importance of water in our daily lives. The children discovered that water is essential—not just for people, but for plants, animals, and the entire planet.
The activity began with a group discussion where students shared ideas about how water helps us—such as for drinking, cooking, cleaning, bathing, and nurturing nature. They also talked about why it’s important not to waste water and learned simple ways to use it wisely.
To deepen their understanding, students took part in an interactive demonstration using a small rubber pool filled with floating items. They learned that not all water is clean and saw firsthand how pollution—like plastic bags, food wrappers, and bottles—can harm our water sources.
With great enthusiasm, the children took turns using tools to safely remove these “pollutants” from the water, practicing care, focus, and teamwork. This hands-on experience helped them make real-world connections between what they see in their environment and the actions they can take to protect it. This engaging activity not only supported environmental awareness but also nurtured a sense of responsibility and empathy—important values we continue to build on in our early years program. ***
