Nursery – Maths: Following Simple Maze

Nursery – Maths: Following Simple Maze

As part of their continued exploration of land transport, Nursery students participated in an engaging hands-on activity using toy cars. The activity began with students selecting a toy car in their favorite color, reinforcing their color recognition skills.

Once they chose their cars, the students were guided to drive their vehicles along a designated path, which included a simple maze. This required them to follow directions carefully and navigate their cars through the course, developing their spatial awareness and problem-solving skills.

To deepen their understanding of land transport, the activity incorporated lessons on traffic lights and road signs. Students learned the meanings of common signs, such as “stop” and “go,” and practiced responding appropriately to simulated traffic light signals during their driving experience. This integration of play and learning introduced them to basic traffic rules in an interactive and age-appropriate way.

By combining creativity, movement, and real-world concepts, this activity encouraged students to connect their knowledge of land transport with practical skills like direction-following, color identification, and rule awareness. The experience provided a fun and meaningful foundation for understanding how vehicles and traffic systems work in everyday life. ***
