Nursery – Maths: Exploring the Healthy Hearts and Numbers

Our Nursery students stepped into the shoes of mini doctors for an exciting, hands-on exploration of how the human heart works!

After discovering that exercising and eating well keep our hearts strong, the children used real stethoscopes to listen to their own heartbeats. They quickly noticed the difference between a resting beat and a fast, thumping heart after running and jumping! To bring the rhythm to life, students used chopsticks to tap out heartbeat sounds. Then, taking turns as doctors, they checked their friends’ heartbeats and recorded counts from 0–3.

By combining pretend play with body science, our young learners boosted their observation skills, early numeracy, and curiosity about healthy habits!
