Nursery – Maths: Colour Recognition
Nursery students have been learning the story of The Enormous Turnip and engaged in hands-on activities inspired by the story. They practiced pretending to pull vegetables and turnip images, just like the old man did in the story. Moreover, they were encouraged to recognize the colours of vegetables such as carrots and turnips. This exploration provided students with real experiences of how vegetables grow and are harvested from the soil. Through this activity, they also enhanced their knowledge of colour recognition and developed a better understanding of identifying vegetable grow n the soil. In the long term, these learning experiences are expected to nurture students’ curiosity, develop their critical thinking skills as they explore their environment, and build their confidence to discover new things independently.
